UNC Charlotte professor awarded $2.8M grant to develop soybean varieties resistant to damaging pest

Bao-Hua Song, Ph.D., a biology professor at the University of North Carolina Charlotte, has received a $2.8 million grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to develop new soybean varieties that can resist the soybean cyst nematode (SCN), a destructive pest that causes annual crop losses of up to $1.5 billion in the United States.
