Why Coliving is Ideal for Travel Nurses

We know that it can be stressful to find accommodation as a traveling nurse or healthcare professional. While moving for a new job is already stressful, there is additional pressure on traveling nurses and physicians due to their work schedules, work-life balance, and more.

Bearing this in mind, our goal at Alcove is to help you take the stress out of apartment or house hunting. We truly believe that coliving is an excellent option for travel healthcare professionals.

Live near a hospital or clinic

Many of our coliving homes are located within a few miles of a hospital. Our premiere homes take location into account, and we're able to help tons of professionals like yourself with locations that are both safe and convenient. This is, obviously, excellent for travel nurses as you'll save time on transportation.

Less time spent commuting means more time spent doing things that you enjoy, like exploring the beautiful city that you are based in or spending time with new friends. Speaking of new friends, that's another benefit to living in an Alcove home.

Raleigh is a beautiful growing city.

Make friends, build a network

While you certainly can have privacy when living with others, one of the perks that many people enjoy about it is the social aspect of coliving.

If you're a travel nurse, chances are that you'll want to meet new people when you arrive in your city. Many people find that they feel nervous about doing this. But don't fret. When applying to your Alcove homes, we give you the opportunity to talk and meet with your potential roommates. How you go about this communication is up to you, but we highly recommend finding out what your roommates do for work and for fun. It will only make your coliving experience more enjoyable if you have common interests with roommates.

One concern we frequently get is that people are worried that they will be put with people who they don't get along with.

It's in both our best interests to find that ideal match for roommates in our homes, so we try our best to match all our roommates with similar preferences so they have the same interests and needs.

So, if you like your early nights and chilled out weekends, we will try to put you with others who are similar. This helps contribute to a happy household for the duration of your travel contract. Likewise, if you're keen to see the local nightlife, we will match you with similar people!

Flexibility in leasing

Our lease agreements are very flexible, so you can stay for however long suits you, from three to eighteen months. And while three months isn't always enough to see the sights, try the restaurants, and build deep relationships with your roommates, we understand that your career goals are also important!

How does per-bedroom leasing work

The flexibility in leasing is particularly useful for travel nurses, who are often on placements for just three months at a time. If your contract gets renewed or extended, or if you find that you want to continue living in the home, we can always renew your lease for whichever lease length best fits your needs. We do this at no extra charge and even remind you when your lease renewal period is coming.

It can be difficult to find accommodation options under six months - which is all the more reason to stay in a coliving space!

All-Inclusive living

Our contracts are all-inclusive, so you don't need to think about bills and other fees, and there will be no nasty surprises at the end of the month. This will help you focus on what you came to the city to do - be a great medical professional!

When you pay your rent every month, you won't need to worry about splitting bills with other roommates. Additionally, your lease will include the cost of utilities, furnishings, internet, and more.

If you're wondering where to stay while you're working as a travel nurse, co living is an easy, hassle-free option. Take a look at all of our listings which are close to hospitals in both the Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte areas of North Carolina.
