The North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) has granted $1.4 million to local governments for infrastructure projects, creating 133 jobs and attracting over $68 million in private investment.
These grants will stimulate economic growth and improve infrastructure in rural areas, contributing to the overall development of the state and creating more job opportunities.
The RIA approved five grant requests, supporting projects in various counties:
Yadkin County: A $75,000 grant will aid the reuse of a 1,684-square-foot building, creating 8 jobs and bringing in a private investment of $133,337.
Granville County: A $500,000 grant will support the renovation of a 355,000-square-foot building, resulting in 70 new jobs and an investment of $30,927,478.
Vance County: A $75,000 grant will aid the renovation of a 4,500-square-foot building, creating 15 jobs and attracting an investment of $106,498.
The RIA also approved two requests under the Industrial Development Fund–Utility Account program:
Town of Spring Hope (Nash County): A $434,730 grant will extend a water line to provide public water to a meat-packing facility, creating 40 jobs and a $2.2 million investment.
Pitt County: A $300,000 grant will fund the construction of a water line to support growth in the Ayden industrial district, attracting new jobs and private investment of at least $35 million.
The grants approved by the RIA will lead to job creation, private investment, and improved infrastructure in rural areas of North Carolina, promoting economic growth and development across the state.
