6 Socially Distant Activities to do With Roommates

The days of social distancing are still very much here - if you’ve recently moved into a co-living home, what do you do? To keep everyone safe, you should stick to socially distant activities while the Coronavirus pandemic continues. If you’re looking for some inspiration, we have some ideas right here!

Picnic in the Park

This is the classic social distance activity, but it’s always a good one! We’re lucky to still have some sunny days in Raleigh Durham throughout fall - so dining al-fresco is still very much an option.

Go hiking

In Northern Carolina, we’re blessed with plenty of hiking trails and state parks. The Mountains to Sea Trail runs near Raleigh Durham, and Hemlock Bluff Nature Preserve is close by as well.

Eat outside

If you fancy a restaurant meal, why not take a table outside with your housemates? Most restaurants are only accepting 50% capacity inside, but there’s plenty of room outdoors!

Go to the Drive Shack

The nearby Drive Shack is an interactive golf complex where you can play golf from screens! They’ve incorporated a lot of socially distant policies here, so you can practice your game risk-free - it’s also a great bonding activity with new housemates!

Visit a socially distant brewery

There are over 25 breweries in the Raleigh-Durham area, and while most are now open, they are all operating with strict social distancing policies. This is ideal for you - the pubs do all of the hard work by ensuring that everyone stays protected, and you and your flatmates can enjoy a locally sourced beer!

Take an online class together

If it’s raining, or you just don’t fancy going outside, why not take an online class together? One of the good things about the pandemic is that a lot of people have taken courses online. You can find anything on the net - from brushing up your photography skills using objects in your home to wine tasting courses!

As you can see, there are lots of options for socially distant activities with your roommates. By doing some of these, you’ll be able to bond and get to know the neighborhood as normal while staying safe at the same time!
